CALLING 911
When you have an emergency and you call 911, you
get to talk to a dispatcher who is trained to help you. That
dispatcher may ask you:
What is your name?
Where do you live?
Are you or somebody else hurt?
What is the phone number?
What is the problem?
Describe the ...car or person.
Do you want the police, fire or ambulance?
Where are you?
These questions help the dispatcher to understand why you called and
will be able to send help fast. The dispatcher can send the police,
fire, and ambulance if needed.
It is VERY important to know:
**How to spell your name (first and last).
**Where you live (street number and name, town).
**Your phone number.
