2010 Back to School

GOFFSTOWN – The Goffstown Police Department wishes to remind motorists of the start of the 2010-2011 school year. Thursday, September 2, 2010, the Goffstown School District opens. It also marks the opening of school for the Villa Augustina as well. Motorists are reminded to use extra caution through the school zones in town and to take due notice of cross walks and flashing school zone lights to reduce speed.

South Mast Rd Closure

August 6, 2010 – Immediate

GOFFSTOWN – The Goffstown Public Works Department announces the closing of South Mast Street for box culvert installation and water main work from Wallace Road to Mountain Road. The closure will start Monday, August 16, 2010 and is expected to last five days. The road will be closed during the day and at night with no thru traffic access. The actual closure is near #95 and #96 South Mast Street, so residents and local traffic will be able to access homes and businesses along South Mast Street in that area, but thru traffic is not feasible. The Town hopes to have South Mast Street reopened for Saturday, August, 21, 2010. Commercial vehicles and commuter vehicles needing access for thru travel should use Elm Street Detour Route. Local residents needing access for thru travel should use Wallace Road to Merrill Road to Mountain Road.

Worthley Hill Closure

GOFFSTOWN – The Goffstown Police Department and Public Works announces the closing of Worthley Hill at the Intersection of Lamson Ave for drainage construction related to the South Mast Road Drainage Improvements Project. The closure will start Monday, June 7, 2010 and is expected to last until June 9, 2010. Worthley Hill will be closed during the day from 7:00 am – 4:30 pm and reopened each night. Local traffic will be allowed access within the project area on Worthley Hill and Lamson Ave. Local traffic needing access must use Merrill Road detour by way of Mountain Road.

S. Mast Rd Closure Info

GOFFSTOWN – The Goffstown Public Works Department announces the start for drainage construction related to the South Mast Road Drainage Improvements Project. The construction has already begun and is expected to last until early September. Lamson Avenue, Pineridge, East Union, Wallace (from Mast to High School), Worthley intersection with Wallace and South Mast will be the roads affected during this project. Residents and Commuter traffic should use recommended alternate detour route to avoid unnecessary delays during the day. A construction schedule is posted online to show approximate days roads will be affected. Any road closures requiring detours will be posted on the Town’s website and through local media sources.

Don’t Forget to License your Dog

The Goffstown Police Department wishes to remind residents
that dogs four (4) months and older require a license to be purchased through the Town Clerks Office at 16 Main Street. These licenses must be renewed annually by May 1st of each year.

The cost of the dog license is as follows:
Altered dog – $6.50
Unaltered dog – $9.00
Senior Citizen owner – $2.00

Civil forfeiture may be assessed for unlicensed dogs at a fee of $25.00 per dog.
